Amazon.com The fourth season of NCIS begins with one of the investigators being charged with assassinating an Iranian prisoner. Former Mossad intelligence agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who was introduced last season, has been framed, and there's only one man who can clear her name. Unfortunately, lead investigator Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) has retired to Mexico. But since Harmon is the star of the show, Gibbs returns to the United States to help out his colleague. While most of his former team is happy, Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) has mixed feelings (During Gibbs' absence, DiNozzo became the de facto head of the team, and going back to being Gibbs' underling doesn't sit well with the usually easygoing special agent.). Like William Petersen on CSI, Harmon is instrumental to the success of NCIS. Low-key and sarcastic, he injects humor and drama into a role that could've come off as dull. And while other cast members may come and go, his presence makes even some of the weaker storylines forgivable. In general, this season--which originally aired from 2006 to 2007--is full of well-developed plot lines that drive each episode along at a good pace. But there are some subplots that are trite: When agent Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) reveals that that book he's writing is based on his co-workers, it's not much of a reveal. Also, the serial-killer storyline in this season overstays its welcome by at least one episode. As NCIS director Jennifer Shepard, Lauren Holly makes a sometimes unlikable character come to life, especially when Shepard's motives are questionable. As the show's name suggests, the majority of crimes featured revolve around military personnel, but some of the show's best moments occur when they touch of the personal relationships between the characters. All 24 episodes are included in this six-disc box set, which also includes commentaries, a Q&A session with cast members answer fans' questions, and a surprisingly interesting look at the props used on the show. --Jae-Ha Kim

NCIS fourth season March 4, 2010 movie lover (Florida) I have not had a chance to view this DVD yet but it appears to be in good condition. Thank You
Gibbs is back.. January 11, 2010 Derrick Jenkins (Hampton VA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
as we all know Season 3 leaves us with Gibbs gone from his position as the head of the NCIS team. He's out of the fold but comes back in a case by case basis for the first few episodes. As Tony is in charge of the team since Gibbs has been gone and isn't really too keen on giving that position back. Among them being Ziva gets framed for murder when a bombing takes place while she's out on the town. It only takes another episode or two and Gibbs is back and running things. All the actors/actresses come together to make this show what it is. A throughly engaging, story driven and all around fun show to watch.
It just clicks from episode to episode with various cases in need of solving and a couple that delve deeper into the inner workings of the Director. As she has a history with one of the criminals that the team is trying to apprehed. The fourth season of NCIS continues to roll on and bring us excellent stories. I'm looking forward to checking out the next couple seasons on DVD very soon. Keep the show going it is one of the better and more interesting shows out there.
awesome show December 22, 2009 Luke Grice i've watched every episode of this show and it's effing awesome; i'm amazed it's not more popular. each season comes in a cardboard case with three plastic disk cases in it which is a piece of crap, they always break but totally worth it.
Best Show on TV November 20, 2009 Missy (NH) I found this show this year on USA and I don't know what I'd do without it. I lost my Grandma a year and a half ago due to negligent post-op nursing (non care - she had insurance). At least two out of many nurses were horrified. I want to thank everyone who works on this show and my Grandma in heaven thanks you too. It isn't easy to find a show that can strike the right balance in all aspects of production. To me it isn't NCIS without McGee so I might not buy the first season. If I could give NCIS 10 stars I would!
One TV show worth watching! October 24, 2009 V. Petit (FL USA) My family loves this show and watch the re-runs on cable tv as often as we can. Because we enjoy it so much we have begun collecting the entire series (seasons 1-7). Some of these seasons, as a collection, are pretty expensive. When we found this season at this price we had to have it. We received it days before we expected, in perfect shape, and were able to watch the special features immediately. The commentaries, cast roundtables, ducky's world, going behind the scenes to see what goes into making this hit was so much fun. We love all the characters and their stories as they are revealed starting with season 1. If you're a fan of NCIS we recommend buying this product. You'll love it as much as we do.
